Privacy Policy

The short version: Susurro is designed so your data never leaves your device. No accounts, no servers, no backend. We do not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal information. Your voice, your entries, and all AI processing stay on your iPhone or iPad. On the App Store, Susurro is labeled “Data Not Collected.”

What we collect

Nothing. Susurro does not collect any personal data:

Your entries and voice

Your journal entries are stored only on your device using Apple's on-device storage. When you speak, your voice is transcribed on your iPhone or iPad; the audio is used to produce the transcript and is not recorded, saved, or transmitted by Susurro.

On-device AI

On supported iPhones and iPads, Susurro uses Apple Intelligence (Apple Foundation Models) to polish your entries, write short reflections, and read the tone of your writing. This processing runs entirely on your device — your words are never sent to Susurro, to Apple, or to any third party for this.

Microphone

The microphone is used only while you are recording an entry, and only to transcribe your speech on-device. It is never used in the background, and no audio ever leaves your device. You can grant or revoke microphone access anytime in the iOS Settings app.

Face ID / Touch ID

If you enable the optional app lock, authentication is handled entirely by iOS. Your biometric data stays in the Secure Enclave and is never accessible to Susurro.

Notifications

If you enable the optional daily encouragement, notifications are scheduled and generated locally on your device. They contain only a gentle phrase — never the content of your entries — and nothing about them leaves your phone.

Analytics

Susurro contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking. Apple may provide us with anonymous, aggregate statistics (such as total downloads or crash counts) through App Store Connect; this data cannot identify you, and you can limit it in iOS under Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.

Storage and deletion

Everything Susurro creates lives on your device. To delete all of it, simply delete the app. If you use Apple's iCloud device backup, your on-device data may be included in your own encrypted Apple backup, which is controlled entirely by you — Susurro has no access to it.

Children's privacy

Susurro is not directed at children under 13, and because it collects no data, none is ever gathered from anyone.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new "Last updated" date.
